About Ken

Ken Parker is the Sustainable Landscape Project Manager for PUSH Blue, a part of PUSH Buffalo. PUSH stands for People United for Sustainable Housing, and Ken's involvement in the organization is consistent with his ongoing efforts to bring sustainable, green quality of life to Western NY and to the Buffalo area. The PUSH Buffalo organization has been closely collaborating with the City of Buffalo Sewer Authority to develop a master native plant list for Western NY green Infrastructure projects--specifically in conjunction with a native plant policy currently being developed by the Erie County Environmental Planning & Development Department. PUSH Buffalo’s PUSH Blue program has established the very first National Green Infrastructure Certification Program (NGICP) in NY State. Ken Parker is currently one of only 21 nationally certified trainers, and becomes the first Native American instructor in the US. Ken Parker is also a NY State Certified Nursery and Landscape Professional (CNLP). Ken's presentation will focus on Western NY's green organizations, contractors, architects and native plant advocates, and will explain their roles in the above programs heading into 2019.
